Understanding what a project must deliver is fundamental driver that can be de-railed when personal views and ambitions differ from business imperatives. Lack of objectivity allows discrepancies to appear between what is NEEDED to support the business and what is WANTED by individuals. An accurate requirements analysis is essential to ensure the business benefit of the project is maximised and to avoid scope creep and cost.
There are two types of requirements to consider
- Functional requirements - these describe a network’s capabilities, usability, features, and operations as they relate to the business purpose of the network. (Think “What it does”);
- Non-functional requirements include anything not related to net network’s function: its performance, stability, security, and technical specifications. (“What allows it to do what it does”).
NetUnity works with stakeholders, process owners and project managers at all levels to accurately quantify a project’s essential deliverables and desirable options, and to separate these from project components that may be either unnecessary or unachievable. We help you ensure your project stays on track from PID to completion
